From November 22, 2021 to December 15, 2021 Tacada was a drop off location for a holiday fundraising initiative to collect non-perishable food items for the Edmonton Food Bank and household and personal items for Win House (Edmonton Women’s Shelter).
About the charities:
EDMONTON FOOD BANK: Every month, the food bank provides help to over 21,000 Edmontonians who do not have enough to feed themselves and their families.
WIN HOUSE: Provides a safe place and emergency services for women and children fleeing gender-based abuse. Last year, WIN House helped over 500 women and children in Edmonton escape from domestic violence.
Our Tacada team had the honour to drop off these donations just prior to the holiday break:
We were able to collect:
• Air mattresses
• Kitchen pot sets and electric tea kettles
• Pajamas and sheet sets
• Kitchen utensils and glassware
• Cleaning supplies and laundry detergent
• 25 banker boxes filled with food
Contributions will be included in the “New Home Welcome Boxes” for WIN house, helping women and children restart their lives after leaving domestic violence situations. All food donations will provide Edmontonians facing food insecurity this Holiday season.
